Jordan Lee

Jordan Lee, known professionally as LEEVILLE, is a multifaceted artist, educator, and producer renowned for his innovative contributions to modern music education and artistic expression. As a 2X GRAMMY-nominated and CMA Give A Note Awarded music educator, Jordan is dedicated to nurturing honest and open-minded individuals through the transformative power of music.

Mr. Lee began his career serving as the choral music director at Western Guilford High School in Greensboro, North Carolina, in 2017. In this role, he facilitated diverse musical experiences and ensembles that provided practical praxis in the performing arts. His program included two recording a cappella groups, popular piano technique courses, lunchtime Jam bands, school-wide collaborative concerts, and student-led community festivals, along with other forms of formal and informal community performances. His innovative approach and dedication to his students earned him recognition as Guilford County’s Rookie Teacher of the Year in 2018-2019.

In 2020, Mr. Lee made a significant transition from his role as a choral director to becoming the "Curator of Entertainment Technology" for Guilford County Schools. This pivotal shift marked the beginning of a transformative journey that would redefine music education in the region. One of his groundbreaking initiatives during this time was the development of a multimillion-dollar recording studio at PGSA (Penn-Griffin School for the Arts), a prestigious institution with a rich musical heritage, once attended by jazz legend John Coltrane. Collaborating closely with the national organization Notes for Notes and GCS, Mr. Lee led this ambitious project, which stands as a testament to his unwavering commitment to enhancing musical education opportunities.

At PGSA, Mr. Lee introduced the innovative Modern Music Production Program, an immersive curriculum offered exclusively within the state-of-the-art recording studio. This program, accessible to all GCS students across the county, covers a diverse range of topics essential to modern music creation, including live sound, music engineering, creative songwriting, modern instrumentation, podcasting, and community performance. The studio itself is equipped with multiple recording booths, a spacious performance area, and a comfortable lounge-style classroom, providing students with an inspiring and dynamic learning environment conducive to collaboration and creativity.

By partnering with Notes for Notes, a nationally recognized organization dedicated to providing youth with free access to musical instruments, instruction, and recording studio environments, Mr. Lee has demonstrated his commitment to expanding access to music education and resources for students in Guilford County. Through his visionary leadership and tireless advocacy, Mr. Lee continues to empower students to explore their musical passions, amplify their voices, and unlock their full potential in the ever-evolving landscape of modern music production.

Furthermore, Mr. Lee founded ACE (A Collective of Excellence), a non-profit Multicultural Praxis Space dedicated to cultivating growth mindsets through cultural identity and celebration. ACE, which encompasses ACOBE (A Celebration of Black Excellence) and CHROMATICA (creative music collective), promotes multicultural exchange and celebration, fostering dialogue and interactions across cultures, ages, races, gender identities, and socio-economic statuses through creativity.

Under Mr. Lee's leadership, the ACE Spirit Week Festival was born, transforming from its predecessor, ACOBE. This annual festival is a transformative cultural development and opportunity celebrating the beauty of culture and excellence within the greater community of North Carolina. Held each April, the festival features music, arts, culture, and education, providing a platform to showcase talent, promote inclusivity, and serve as a music arts culture and education festival and award show to celebrate excellence.

Following his impactful work at PGSA, Mr. Lee is set to embark on a new journey as the Director of Youth and Producer Experience at Notes for Notes, starting in Summer 2024. In this role, he will continue to champion modern music education excellence by facilitating the integration of new state-of-the-art music studio facilities into schools across the country and innovating curriculum development.
